CGSRobotics - Unmanned Ground Tactical Vehicle

This Project is designed to be a preliminary study of a future program that will:

  • demonstrate the potentialities of a system for automatic control of a ground vehicle, based on a production platform, providing a comprehensive analysis of performances, risks and benefits;
  • achieve a modular system architecture of a kit for the improvement of different vehicles to unmanned ground vehicles;
  • exploit technologies that are already in use at commercial or prototype level in modern defence systems. However, new technology developments should not be part of the work.
The application of the UGTV project are:

    • Inform: Surveillance / Reconnaissance;
    • Engage: Patrolling or Rescuing capability;
    • Protect: Mine sweeping operations;
    • Deploy: Engineering operations;
    • Sustain: Transport of goods and personnel / MEDEVAC.
This Project will provide an analysis of missions and requirements, as well as a benchmarking of current technology, including a specification of the vehicle and its subsystems and a definition of a detailed work plan aiming to develop and evaluate the demonstrator vehicle.

UGTV Project will involve:

    • savings generated by sharing the budget needed for the Project among cMS;
    • advantages coming from the synergies created by the co-operation among European industries while increasing and consolidate of industries know-how;
    • enhancement of governmental skills participating in joint European Projects within EDA.
